2017 - Evening at the Courthouse
On Thursday, April 27, 2017, Justice Initiatives, Inc. hosted the 11th Annual Evening at the Courthouse Fundraiser event at the Mecklenburg County courthouse. Many distinguished guests attended, including members of the state and federal judiciary, state and local elected representatives, and leading members of the Mecklenburg County bar and business community. Guests enjoyed entrees, desserts, and a coffee and juice bar from some of Charlotte’s finest establishments. VIP sponsors and guests were entertained by music from guitarist Jeff Brown, and main event guests heard from pianists Lia Shytle, Bob Ivey and Michael Sztyber on a brand new grand piano donated to the courthouse. There was a silent auction with many exciting items and packages, and an energetic live auction facilitated by Perry's at Southpark proprietor Ernest Perry. Thanks to the many attendees: this year marked the largest crowd to date.
