Biography:  
   
Kiran Mehta is a partner with the law firm of K&L Gates LLP where he focuses his practice on complex business litigation. Kiran has handled a wide variety of complex and multi-party litigation matters, including corporate and commercial disputes, particularly disputes related to private equity investments; construction litigation; real estate and land use litigation; ERISA litigation; product liability, toxic tort, pharmaceutical, and mass tort litigation; and environmental litigation. He has experience representing a major investor-owned public utility in matters before state regulatory commissions.
 
Kiran has been recognized as one of the Best Lawyers in America® for bet-the-company litigation and commercial litigation, and is a frequent writer and speaker on a variety of topics. He was previously a partner at Kennedy, Covington, Lobdell & Hickman, LLP and served as law clerk to the Honorable Frank A. Kaufman, Chief Judge, United States District Court for the District of Maryland from 1981 to 1982.
 
Professional and Community Involvement
Kiran is a member of the American Bar Association's Construction Litigation Committee, President of the Harvard Law School Association of North Carolina, and member of the Board of Directors of the Community School of the Arts. He has served as Dean of Solid Waste and Hazardous Waste of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce Environmental School as well as President and member of the Board of Directors of the Charlotte Swim & Racquet Club.
