Biography:
Mark T. Sumwalt is a member of The Sumwalt Law
Firm and concentrates in workers' compensation
and related claims, such as personal injury
litigation and Social Security disability.
Mark obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Davidson
College in 1978, and earned his Juris Doctorate
from the University of South Carolina in 1981.
He is a North Carolina Board Certified
Specialist in Workers' Compensation Law and was
voted one of the Best Lawyers of America.
Professional and Community Involvement
Mark has been active in community service such
as the North Carolina Advocates for Justice
(formerly North Carolina Academy of Trial
Lawyers) and the Association of Trial Lawyers of
America. In 2008, he served as the Chair of the
Justice & Public Safety Task Force. Presently,
Mark is the Chair of the Criminal Justice
Citizen's Advisory Committee.
